64 days ago today was youth conference kick off. where they gave us a challenge. to read all of alma.
it has 63 chapters so we were supposed to do one a day. i did about the first 4 days and then i am not sure what happened. so on day 41 i decided i probably should start again. so i did. faithfully i read one chapter every single day. day 61 came and we were driving home from powell. i had a 7 hour car ride ahead and absolutely nothing to do. i slept for the first 4 hours and woke up completely bored. until i realized i had my scriptures. i read my chapter for the day and then a thought occured to me. i bet i could finish the whole challenge before youth conference. so i proceded to read to the end of alma. (which was 3 more chapters) and then went back to the beginning to read the first 41. i started reading and got hooked. i read until it was to dark to see any more. monday i read about 10 chapters. yesterday i only read one because i got back really late. and today i was determined to read the other 21. so after sleeping in late i pulled out my scriptures and started. and yes after a few hours i finished. i can't even explain how much my testimony of the scriptures has been strengthened. i absolutely love it. its more like a novel to me now. one that i can't put down. especially when i know an exciting story is coming up. i decided my favorite chapter is alma 5. i love it. it just makes me want to be a better person. so if your looking for some spiritual upliftment i suggest it. so yes it probably is one of the biggest accomplishments in my life and i know it was completely worth it. youth conference starts tonight and yes i am very very excited. (:
