and this session has definitely lived up to its potential.
- saturday was great. jeffrey r. holland is great. he's always been one of my favorites. and how he made it stand out so much that no matter what the love of Christ never fails. no matter what. Christ always loves us and we should look up to him in that way. and always show that love towards others.
- "you can't love what you don't know" -david m. mckonkie. there's no better way to put it. you have to know the scriptures to love them. and i know that the more i learn through them the more i love them (:
- d. todd christofferson talked about how our lives need to be consecrated to the gospel. not just in some things but in every aspect. he talked about the importance of work and not being lazy. and also being physically active. he talked about how if we want to have the closest possibly relationship with Christ we need to be physically fit. and i'd never thought about that.
- elder uchtdorf. i have always loved him. and this talk, from april's young women broadcast may be my very favorite talk i have ever heard. and this session his talk was probably my favorite. the one that meant the most to me. when things get hard don't get caught up in it, focus on what matters most, and simplicity is key. i'm sure that's what we all needed to hear. in this time where so much is constantly going on. simplify things a little. take out the unnecessary. and find time for what means most to you. focus on the basic gospel principles. prayers. scriptures. developing relationships with Heavenly Father and Christ. getting to know and love your family more and learning to love yourself. the path is straight and narrow, so bump the unnccessary things off your path to make it easier for you to stay on.
- going to bed early and getting up on time was mentioned too. one of the little things that can make such a difference. *it's definitely going to be one of my goals (:
- supporting the guys in their priesthood. it was mentioned alot. and the importance of it. the blessings it brings. and how it works as a shield to my home. also mentioned was that one of satan's major goals is to prevent guys from going on missions and getting married in the temple. they talked about how us girls need to contradict that and push them the opposite direction. strive to go on a mission and focus your life for a temply worthy marriage.
- the grass is never greener on the other side. every speaker mentioned that the gospel is the only way. it truly is the plan of happiness. and no matter how much more fun it may seem like the rest the world may be having the grass is never greener on the other side.
- and how can we forget President Monson. having an attitude of gratitude. in all things. such a simple thing. yet something we fail to recognize constantly.
i love the opporutnity we have to hear from the Lord's servants. and i know they truly are men called of God. after listening i always come away feeling completely refreshed. it makes me want to become better. set goals. and become more like my savior (: i want to be that girl that is looked up to because of her testimony. because of her love of the gospel and having the light of Christ shine in her eyes. i love conference. and i love this gospel with all my heart (:
