a christmasy post (:

first off, today in church it was of course Christmas sunday which i absolutely love!
it's full of so much music and the spirit is so strong, because it's all focused around our Savior. (:
in sunday school we read "the legend of the candy cane.
"it's an adorable Christmas story that i'd definitely recommend.
right after church family came over, and we had a huge turkey dinner, and then after that we just sat around and talked, about memories, and experiences, and about my aunts and uncles favorite Christmas' growing up, of course it was never the ones where they recieved amazing things. it was the ones where they had given something, or experienced others giving.
also we had family home evening and everyone shared their thoughts on why it's so important that we celebrate the birth of the Savior, and why it's always the biggest holiday. my favorite things were course first off because he died for all of us, and he atoned for all our sins, so he deserves to be remembered on this day. but another one that i'd never really thought of was that he is one of the 3 members of the Godhead. and he walked on this earth. We had a God living here with us on our earth, constantly doing what he could to bless the lives of others.
and this is what Christmas really is about.
focusing our lives on the Savior and remembering him,
constantly trying to do what we can to help others and give service.
spending time with family, and those that you love.

there's 6 days until Christmas, so i challenge you, each day to go out of your way to try and serve someone in a way you usually wouldn't. someone you always see, or a complete stranger. brighten their mood this Christmas season, and remember what it's truly about. (:
