*day three*
the parents.
dad:
well, i'm not sure where to stary, but i guess we get along really well, and a lot of times, he reminds me of myself. his stories from his teenage years seem like things i'd do, and when asked whose personality i inherited more of, i'm usually told it's his.
first off, he's hilarious. i really don't know how else to say it. being around him you're guaranteed a laugh. and half the time you can't take him seriously. he probably still thinks he is 17 sometimes. such as before a dance when he decides to teach us some new moves... luckily he keeps these moves to himself when he insists on chaperoning almost every stake dance there is.
he is also extremely social. he will talk to anyone and everyone about everything. the most random things. all the youth in the ward know him well, and having him at girls camp is always... interesting. (: he doesn't like to wait around for things to happen. he's the one that makes things fun. no matter what the situation is, he will make it into something memorable.
he loves to have fun, but he is also an extremely hard worker. he does construction and will work rain or shine or snow, or whatever it may be. he cares about the people he works for, gets to know them, and makes sure that he's done the job just right to fit their needs.
he can fix literally everything. i don't ever remember having a "fix it" guy come to my house in my entire life. because he can fix anything. the car. the computer. the faucet. the hole in the wall. the bike, my necklace, my shoe, the t.v, you name it, i guarantee he can fix it. and also he built this house.
random fact: he's extremely observant. we'll be driving down the road, and he'll realize that those people got a new garage door. he's probably only driven past this house once in his life, and he remembers and realizes it.
he has an amazing testimony. he's in the bishopric and he is extremely willing to serve others. his testimony strengthens mine, and i'm so grateful that because of him i can have the priesthood in my home.
i love him and look up to him because he is such an example to me. dad, i love you. (:
mom:
she is the most amazing example to me in soo many ways. she is always putting others first, no matter what the situation is. she won't worry about herself, until she knows that everyone else is okay. she genuinely loves everyone. all her neighbors, crazy visiting teachers, beehives, no matter who they are or what their situation she will love and be there for them always.
she's a hard worker. if something needs to be done, she'll be the one to do it.
she's a better runner than probably i'll ever be. she'll wake up early in the morning to run, just for fun, and be back in time to help us off to school. and she's an amazing runner too. she got 9th all around for women, and that was when she was 37 after birthing 5 children. inspiring? yes. i don't think i'm capable of running a marathon in 3 hours and 9 minutes!
she's optimistic in every way. if you have a negative comment, she'll counter it with a positive one. she looks for the brighter side of the situations, and helps me remember it can always be worse.
she is one of the nicest people i know. you will never hear her say anything rude about anyone. if there is ever anyone in a group who looks lonely or like they need a friend, she'll be there to make them feel welcome and she can create conversation with anyone. that random guy on the ski lift? she'll probably know where they're from and half their background by the time she's done riding with them. she's an amazing listener too. she lets others do the talking, but gives good input.
she is there for me when i need her, and gives the greatest advice. she teaches me the gospel, and her testimony strengthens mine. i love her so much, and i know that without her, i would definitely not be who i am today. so thanks mom, i love you. (:
our fathers seem like the same person!
