what would you do with an hour and a half to spare?

the salt lake marathon registration packet pick-up was held in the salt palace in salt lake today.
our job was to stand outside, and hand out fliers for the hostpital, for an upcoming race to support cancer patients. also, we were getting paid.
well at one point a guy came up to me, and said extremely quickly, "do you have permission to do this!?" then laughed. i immidiately said. "yes?" he was like, "hahaha oh i'm just kidding you!" and sped away. it was weird.
then, he came back! same conversation, but this time after i said yes, he replied, "you paid all the fees with the city and everything?" and i kid you not i have never heard a human being talk so fast in my life. so i replied, "uhm i'm pretty sure we already had this conversation, yes. we do." because the hostpital had sent us here. were they going to break the rules? well he laughed and walked away. and we continued to hand out the fliers.
after an hour of handing them out, (it felt like ages) a man came up and explained to us that he didn't have us down on the list of non-profit organizations who were allowed to hand the fliers out. he wasn't mad he just said, he was sorry but this was unfair to all those people who had paid.
thank you creeper for reporting us. we were going to make bank.
(but also thanks because i was extremely bored!)
my mom had dropped us off. she had her phone off. and so we had an hour and a half to kill.
we wandered around for a while. but then, we sat. and watched all the people who roamed past.
it was actually mildly entertaining. people are weird. and unique. and awkward..
but they made our wait slightly less boring?

so i hope your friday was more exciting than mine!
