that one time i got invited to THE party.

i was completely exhuasted.
helping out with and being in gymn recitals all day.
i was lounging around in sweats, and hair sloppily pulled back. my original plan was a girls night with my best friends. so getting all dolled up really wasn't necessary.
when i called up jess to confirm she was coming over she unfolded a story to me that went a little like this...
wait, pause.
* remember when i was friends with that whole other group? after i ditched them, they began to hang out with some oak canyon kids. jess was still friends with them, so she got to know the oak canyon kids too. (and not long after she ditched that group too)
well in that short time, there was a kid she became friends with, we'll call him jake. after jess ditched that group her and jake kinda stayed friends but they never hung out anymore...
back to the story...
may 21st was jake's birthday, and she got invited to his party. to simplify the story, i ended up tagging along with her. i'd heard lots about these parties. they were apparently the greatest. but the pg kids were also known for crashing them. and, i was slightly hesitant to be going with that reputation.
but i love parties. and meeting new people.
especially when it's potentially attractive oak canyon kids.
while we were waiting to leave, (after tearing up my closet for something to wear and having jess curl my hair)  we heard people in her neighbors back yard and did a little spying to see who it was... turns out it was some of our other guy friends who were also throwing a party. there weren't many people, but it still looked like lots of fun, and that one boy was there. they invited us to stay, and secretly i really wanted to..  but we'd already promised a couple of other girls a ride to the other party and promised jake we would come.
well to summarize the night, it was honestly not even that great at all.
everyone was completely cliquey, and not much was going on. the guys played basketball. the girls played volleyball. the oak canyon kids kept to themselves for the most part. and the pg kids kept to themselves. there were some people i talked to that were way nice and i became friends with, but i was still wishing we were at the other party...
conclusion: it was fun.. definitely not everything everyone makes it up to be,
and i'd choose my friends over them anyday (:
