for cross country, we did indeed run from the high school up to the G. (well, most of us hiked from the base of G rather than run.) but it was hard. and it felt super good. nicole and i had a real nice chat on the way down. (who if you haven't yet discovered her blog, i highly advise you check it out. no doubt one of my absolute favorites.)
(picture stolen from nicole)
part II: the crash.
i hurried home. showered. took a quick trip to the bank, (celebrating being able to drive myself) and then to the school to pay for dixie. then jess and miranda (her sister) picked up jenn and i for a shopping trip.
it was definitely good to us. and after a few hours we headed on our way home. annd someone crashed into us. there aren't any pictures. so in words it looked a little like so.. (shortened version)
the train lights are flashing so of course we stopped. after a minute they're still blaring, and no train in sight.
the lady behind us gets impatient, and starts honking.
we freak out, and book it accross the traintracks. safely.
we'd just hung up from singing happy birthday to one of our friends on the phone.
i'm sitting in the passenger seat talking to jess, and i see a car approaching us.
deja vu (a car clipped us in the canyon at girls camp)
he's coming right at us, i start freaking out and yelling who knows what.
i thought he'd missed us, and then we started to spin.
right on cue, everyone starts screaming. high pitched bloody murder screams.
after a full circle the car stops. the screaming stops. and jess starts hyperventilating.
everyone screams some more. but we manage to pull over.
the back corner and wheel are smashed in. the car wasn't drivable. the police came. and everyone was okay.
with only one sprained knee and a couple slight concussions.
really though, the point of the story, is no doubt, we're being watched over. things like that just put life into perspective. if it was a split second different, it would've nailed either jess or miranda rather than the back end of the car. if the car had been going a little faster, who knows what would've happened. really, a miracle. that we were all alright.
part III: the waterfall.
my cousins had just arrived from oregon. and we had made plans earlier for a date up to bridal veil. i got home, and a half hour later, we were out the door. we scootered/roller bladed to the waterfall. hiked up to the top. ate some very smashed peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches and to say the least, it was lovely.
until the way back down, when Hunter's (my cousin) scooter caught a rock and he went down. with his nose catching the fall. we had to drop off the other two people, but his nose continued to bleed so we dropped him off back at my house first. when we went to drop rachel off, tons of our friends were there hanging out, so we stuck around for a while. we got home around midnight, mid-thirtiesh, and turns out hunter was in the ER getting 5 stitiches in his nose.
it seems i'm bad luck. two accidents in one day.
but life get's dull when everything goes perfectly, right?
clearly, july 6 goes down as a very eventful day.
