time went by super fast. but doesn't it always?
it's a day that has a pin stuck in it. you know, just like, an important one.
i haven't quite figured out what the significance of it was. and i'm not sure i ever will.
it might have been a turning point. or a warning: things might get a little bumpy ahead.
maybe it was the defining day of a relationship; one that had such an impact on my life.
but it even could have simply been to let me believe, and show me that wishes do come true.
we fit for a while. or at least well enough to roll. but one of us grew, or shrunk, or maybe just changed.
and me being the piece, popped out. the momentum rolled me along for a bit...
but eventually, i stopped. i was stuck. and i couldn't roll.
people rolled past, not noticing i was stuck, so not much changed.
but as they did, i realized i was falling behind. as they rolled along, time did also.
i remained in the same place.
until it hit me, that nothing was going to stop for me, so i'd better find a way to move.
and it was rough at first. but i began to roll. just trying to keep up.
as i did, the edges began to chip away. at time a big piece would get knocked off, but the edges were gradually sanded away. and time did heal.
i'm still not solid. and the world wears away at me and rains down, shaping me back into a piece sometimes.
and i get stuck, having to chip off those corners all over again.
but i'm getting stronger. and the corners, even when they do return aren't as rough.
seldom, but at times, it still ache's. where those corners have been chipped away at.
that's usually just when you get stuck though, caught up in the past or the future.
i suppose then you just have live in the moment, and keep rolling along...
