we must be cursed.

as i was out and about blog browsing this morning. i came upon a very unique recipe. it sounded disgusting and so i googled it to find more reviews. every single one said it was deliscious.

so when beth called to hang out i thought hey we should totally make them! 

her immediate response was, "when you put beth and brit in a kitchen together, whatever it is trying to be made is almost always a failure. "

oh how correct she is. 

i'm not sure what it is but things never work.
even when we follow the recipe exact.
must be a curse. 

we have made cookies... 

obviously something is wrong.

pancakes...

we struggled at flipping them. and put in 4x the amount of needed baking powder.

omelets...

we thought we did pretty good. 

maddie informed us otherwise.  

a chocolate mousse pie...

it looks good right?
wrong.
we didn't eat chocolate for atleast a month after baking this.

this isn't all either. we have tried others too. but they too have been failures.
we have even messed up boxed brownie mixes more than once.
but today we were determined. for a success.
to break the curse. 
and prove. we can cook.
so here are our secret ingredient brownies.

i didn't think they were to terrible. 

i thought they were actually pretty decent. 

my mom informed us they tasted like cardboard. 

we suggested frosting. 

and she told us frosting can't make cardboard taste good. 

so we aparentally have failed. once again. 

but good news. me and beth think we have found a solution. so we plan to change up the recipe. and make them again. in hope of a success.
