"hopin' that this will be the day, that you, take your eyes off the ground out of the blue.. and see that someone, is looking right back at you..." ~jason reeves, 'someone somewhere'
.
lately there seems to be a common trend spreading throughout the blogosphere. maybe it's because summer's coming, and everyone has summer romances on their mind. but lately we seem to fall into one of two categories.
a) madly liking mr. perfect. you've kissed him, held his hand. and life couldn't be bettter.... or b) you're envying these people. wishing your prince would come along and scoop you off your feet. so you can join the club. as for the past couple months. this would be where i belong.
.
i've always believed in happily ever afters. finding the perfect prince charming, and letting things fall into place.
i never expected to find him in my teen years, but i assumed to have the 'high school flings' at some point. where you're not 'going out', just best friends. spending too much time together. always being there for each other. and beginning to believe in love..
..
i'm only 15. (pratically) i'm probly one of the most innocent 15 year olds out there.
vl. never been kissed. never even held hands. but, it's not something i regret. and i'm not desperate for it to happen. there have been times where i've been offered a hand to hold. multiple actually.. where kissing got brought up.. but every time i'd turn it down.
i'm not going to let any boy just hold my hand. better yet kiss me.
he has to special. i have to like him a lot. and he has to genuinely care. i won't let it be something i regret. and i vow not to have a ridiculous first kiss story. because if it's not perfect. i won't let it happen.
everyone sets an age. i won't kiss until i'm 16. or 17. for me, i really don't care. as long as it's perfect, i don't think it matters. but lately, no one has even come close to being good enough.
maybe my standards are set to high. but i don't plan on lowering them.
i met mr. perfect once. but he left my life just as quickly as he came in. and now i'm just another random facebook friend to him.
but he let me believe. even if only for a short time. that those kind of kids reallly do exsist, so i'm not giving up.
.
tonight as i read this blog post. it took the words right out of my mind. and there is no better way i could say it. maybe i cried. because this is exactly how i feel.
but heavenly father is watching over me. and he really does know my heart. cause the next blog i opened was this one. and maybe that just made the tears come more. because that's what i needed to hear.
.
more than anything, i wish my prince charming would hurry up.
but for now, i guess i'll just go with it. live life to its fullest. and forget about the boys.
because like i said, i'm only 15. (pratically)

Brit, I have been going through that exact thing, boys don't give me the time of day, friends are leaving me. I thought I was alone and no one knew what I was going through. But to know that Im not alone gives me strength. Thank you Brit, I needed that.
