our world underneath.

we blog. it's a part of us.
and it's something that not many fully understand.
we go each day surrounded by peers who judge. their opinions on us form around what we wear, who we socialize with, what rumors they've heard, and how we act in public. but meanwhile we're living in a second world. where we're honest about insecurites, our hearts open up completely, and our thoughts and secrets are freely expressed.
you can't explain to people why we do it, or why it becomes such a big part of our lives. they'll never understand how it's not weird to us to become so close with girls who you might've never met.
girls from school that i'd never really known, or people who i had just admired from afar, i suddenly knew all about their lives, and they were becoming a part of mine. i got to know them for who they truly were, not just as another face in the crowd, or the description people had painted into my mind.
the experiences i read about started to bless me. reading about their trials, and how they got through them, helped me to over come mine. their advice made me a better person and they became people i admired and looked up to. after a hard day, blogs often seem to be where i turn to. quotes they post, or just reading about how they're going through similar things makes it suddenly not seem as bad.
maybe blogging used to viewed as a place for the mormon mom's and photographers, and of course it still is.
but somewhere along the way, the teenage girls wanted to become a part of it, they shared their lives, and their feelings, and managed to open up a whole new world to us.
a world that i'm not sure i'd survive without. so for now, my blog won't be going private.
because i'm brit. and i believe in the lovely. (:
