lady and the tramp... and the bugs?

unfortunately, only the titles of our story names are similar.
not the plot where lady falls madly in love and they live happily ever after...

this story is about the lady, a girl named brittney. she absolutely loved the outdoors, and more than anything she loved sleeping under the stars...

one warm summers night, with her pillow and blanket in hand, she snuck out to the tramp, (trampoline that is..) where she planned to happily dream the night away.
after only a couple minutes she realized that scripture reading had been forgotten, so she left her things there and hurried back in to quickly read a chapter. after reading the thought occurred to her that maybe this wasn't such a good idea. she shrugged it off and continued outside, and once again she felt like she shouldn't do it. again, she ignored it and headed back out to the tramp.

the air was crisp, the rain sprinkled down for a while but the large tree branches above kept her nice and dry.
the clouds cleared up and stars covered the sky as she drifted off to sleep.

she awoke to the vibrating alarm on her phone. 5:25. much to early to be awake, but her and the young women were set off on a walk to the temple.
her face felt tight but she didn't think much of it.. until she came inside and looked in the mirror.
the entire right side of her face was super swollen. and her right eye resembled something close to that of the hunchback of notre-dame's. and that's not an exaggeration in the least. she was terrified by her own presence. she applied mounds of make-up trying to make it look somewhat acceptable. in the end she resorted to a large pair of sunglasses to atleast cover the swollen eyes. the rest was swollen enough that the dots had yet to appear.

the total came to 25 bites on the right side of her face alone. plus, the other 17 dotting her arm and neck.
she looked ridiculous to say the least.

a note from the author: bug spray. if you're sleeping outside.. use it. or you too could end up looking like so. (plus 25 swollen red dots in the upper right corner of your face)
yes. this picture displays our story much better.

  1. Oh my goodness that's terrible I'm so sorry!
That happened to me last summer on trek, I got 60 bites.
20 on my face, it hurt and I looked like a mess, so I put(luckily we were going home that day) a pillow case on my face and ran around like a chicken without a head. I now have a fear of bugs.

  2. I understand your love for sleeping on the trampoline.
    That is awful, though...
