everyone was wearing their best clothes for the first day of school.
the sophomores all looking terrified, triple checking their schedules to make sure they were in the right class.
the seniors, frustrated that they were in fact taking health as a senior.
and a mixture of every stereotype.
your typical high school classroom.
only one kid managed to really catch my eye though.
he walked in late, and there was something about him.. the way he held himself.
he wasn't cocky, or awkwardly anti-social. just.. content. and confident.
he wasn't trying super hard or acting like someone he wasn't.
he was real. with his rolled khaki's and slightly ripped vans.
quirky.. but cute.
one time he made a comment and i leaned over to cass and said, "that kid is so cute."
she gave me the look like 'are you kidding me? no.. he's isn't really..'
time went on, and this kid just intrigued me more and more.
he had average blonde hair, and super amazing blue eyes.
his insights in class discussions were honest and real.. more than anyone else's.
he wasn't obnoxiously loud but he made funny side comments.
i began to talk to him. he was nice.
cass, him and i became friends. but i didn't consider him much because i already loved someone else.
and anyway, he was a junior, a cute one, and i knew i would never have a chance with him.
but then things started to fall apart with the other kid.. and i began to like him more.
i flirted a little.. and he surprised me flirting back.
i fell for him, and realized i really had liked him all along.
i thought things were going well.
one day me him and cass spent all of lunch together, just talking.
i'd always see him at basketball games, and he'd ditch his friends to talk to me.
but then everything with him fell apart too.
and i realized i was nothing special to him.. just a friend.
he was a still a cool junior, with his junior friends.
and i was just the little sophomore.
