this world is a terrible place.
Where hundreds of people are being killed daily in war on the other side of the world, and the majority of our american population has no idea. Where African children die of starvation on a daily basis. where AIDS spreads rampantly and places exist where fresh water doesn't. We live in a world full of wars, anywhere and everywhere, both large and small. Full of pride, fancy and expensive cars, clothes, houses, electronics, and anything else you can imagine. A world full of natural disasters, occurring often, and people don't even take the time to notice. Where people are self centered and don't know how to think about anyone but themselves. Where teenagers are too worried about what everyone else thinks of them to become there true self, or go out of their way to help others. We live in a world full of disease. where cancer takes hundreds of victims daily. Whether it's a mother, or grandpa, or a child, being stolen from the ones they love. Where diseases exist without a cure, and lives are cut too short. Where there are young kids are addicted to drugs, teenagers whose minds are so corrupt, and people are too busy to even notice. We live in a world where people lose hope, and give up on life. Where 23 % of our population lives without a home, even through cold winter months. A nation that's begging the government to take care of them, yet we're one of the wealthiest countries in the world. We live in a world where marijuana is being made legal, and it's considered okay to abort your unborn child. In a world where Christmas means high maintenance teenagers sulking because they didn't get what they want, or children distraught because the entire room wasn't packed full of presents. Where thoughts are shallow, and people stop caring... We live in a world where families are torn apart and it's considered completely normal. Where there are countries who block out the gospel, the truth, and refuse to let any part of it in. We live in a world of heartbreak. of job losses. of tragedy. of natural disasters, but people are too busy with their lives to even worry about it. and it's heart wretching.
but we live in a beautiful world. where the sun rises every morning and sets every night just as it's supposed to. we live in a world where young boys risk their lives to fight for a country that isn't their own, and risk their lives for someone else. A world where incredible amounts of money are being raised, for the starving children, for their educations, for the natural disasters, or for the search for the cure. Where people are willing to take a stand for what they believe. Where art is created daily, and free thinkers are still out there. Where people are so gifted, yet so selfless. We live in a world where there are good people. who remember to look out for others. despite their circumstances. where the little girl across the street will be willing to wake up early so she can run over and get those little boys all ready for school because their mom is too sick to. where there are parents who are good. and teach their kids the true meaning of Christmas, and let them become santa for someone else. who won't accept the money people give them, because they know there are still people who need it more. we live in a world full of miracles. Countries are opening up, and allowing missionaries in. The number of missionaries is increasing exponentially, boys willingly giving two years of their life to let this gospel spread throughout the entire world. We live in a world where there are still people whoc care, and won't give up, no matter what. People that want to make a difference, for the sake of others, not their own. and we have so so much to be grateful for.
we live in a world, where our Savior will visit again.
and I get the feeling that's it's sooner than we could ever believe.
