first allow me to warn you. to any readers i may have. this post is rather long and possibly boring. but you see this blog is simply for my own entertainment and journal like purposes. therefore i am documenting this day. and if you don't want to read it feel free to click the little x in the top right. but if you choose to read on, remember i warned you.
we all stressed. we all blogged about it. and we all wished it would never come. but look here it is. school has begun. and i think that deserves a post. considering i am in a blah mood, (like stated in an earlier post) i don't want to make this to treacherous for any of you who chose to read on so i'll try to act as though i'm in a good mood. you see school was really not that terrible. and so here is my condensed down first day story
6:05 my alarm clock beeped. reluctantly i rolled over turned it off and started to get out of bed. but you know when you start to have arguements with yourself. yep i was debating to curl my hair or not to. while thinking about it i managed to fall back asleep, only to reawaken about a half hour later. great. now i was behind.
finally after laying there for a few minutes dragged myself out of bed and decided on curling. not a good idea. i'm not sure what the deal was but my hair did not want to curl and made that very clear to me. 7:15 i get a knock on my door. that would be my mother calling me up for scriptures. my head was a little over half curled and the make-up still sat on my desk waiting to be put to use. 10 minutes later my hair was complete. (the make-up was still yet to be applied) and i hurried up to scriptures. scriptures study happened and i rushed back down stairs to finish up. make-up was on, hair was done, bag packed, lunch ready, and 7:45 i sat waiting for my ride to come. only for them to arrive 20 minutes later.
from there on my day went something like this.
rush to find my locker. hoping the combo works. frantically load my things in as the bell rings.. then off to p.e. i have a good feeling about this class. considering elizabeth is in this class. along with some other friends. (:
then little did i realize that the classes on my schedule were listed in a1, b1, a2, b2, etc order. so i made my way all the way from p.e. up to the seminary building. and scanned through the lists. to bad my name was no where to be found on the a2 lists. someone then suggested i re-check my schedule. i was positive i was in the right place. but just in case i checked again and sure enough i was supposed to be in biology. so i grabbed my stuff and dashed off to biology. luckily they hadn't started class so i rushed in and took a seat right by cassidy. turns out thats my assigned seat. i looked around and realized it was like enjoying acad all over again. i was once again surrounded by all the nerds. i must say i'm looking forward to this class too (:
then math. oh math. i'm not a fan. but guess what. i walked in and pretty much every kid from biology was in that class too. i picked a seat rather close to the front next to beth. we had 4 assignments over the summer. and yep guess how many of them i did. 0. haven't even taken a glance at them. oh well. eventually.
4th period. mr. farnsworth. uh-oh. nuff said. this class is the only one that concerned me. and from the moment i walked in i could tell i was in for a treat. i considered switching out but never got around to it. i still might try. luckily i had beth. she makes everything ok. (: we found 2 empty chairs by each other and took our seats. then i heard the all to familiar laugh and in she walked. the leader of that posse i recently escaped. "barittney your in this class?" with that fake smile plastered on her face. well umm obviously i am. she chose a seat in the opposite corner of me and continued her conversation with her new friends. oh well fine by me. me and beth did some people watching and once again observed it was mostly the same people as had been in the previous 2 classes. we'll be getting to know each other real well now won't we.
at the end of the class the loudspeaker came on and the announcement was made go to your b1 class and then they will tell you either go to the assembly or lunch. so i once again made the long walk up to the seminary building where i was then directed you can go to lunch. so i turned around and back to the school i went. i retrieved my paper sack lunch from my locker and found beth. we then continued outside to claim our spot for the year. considering our previous space in the hallway was now occupied with all our not so favorite people and gossip around every corner. a spot has yet to be claimed and for today we settled along the edge of the cement. with all our other friends. hmm quest for tomorrow. find and claim a spot.
after lunch considering i had already been to b1 i assumed i should be off to b2. so me and beth headed up to daltons room. after sitting for a few minutes daltons informs me that i'm in his next class. that this was b1. great 2 wrong classes in one day. so i bid farewell and started up to seminary. in no apparent rush, although the bell was to ring any minute. i figured they wouldn't mark a tardy on the first day.
as i was walking down the empty hallway i realize someone was behind me. i turn around to once again see that earlier mentioned girl. (the one from history that pretends to like me) you have seminary right now too?! (umm obviously yes once again) maybe we'll be in the same class! mmm maybe. but hopefully not.
well turns out we were. and guess what? i have an antisocial seminary class. with a few exceptions. her. she sits on the opposite side of the room and continues to pretend as though i don't exsist. (yes we used to be best friends) next, the kid who sits in front row, volunteers for everything, and makes all the loud obnoxious comments. and lastly a couple of the girls who surround me but i'm not quite sure i enjoy them to much. i've seen them around and sort of knew one of them in seventh grade but things change, people change and we'll see what happens. we then went to sing the song and he asked if anyone would play the piano. yes i am capable but no i did not want to do it. luckily someone finally volunteered. he then asked if anyone could lead. yes i can lead, its not to dificult really but i wasnt going to volunteer. we all looked around awkwardly for a couple minutes and finally i was like, i can if no one else wants to. which they obviously did not. so i awkwardly stood up there and led all 3 verses of i am a child of God. i have looked forward to this class all year, it can't be that bad right? i mean its seminary.
they then led us to an extremely pointless assembly. (as most are) and after a long 45 minutes dismissed us back to class. i once again make my way back to english. luckily i was supposed to be there this time and, cass and beth are in this class so it should be a party. (: so many memories were made in that room. 7th grade acad english. oh my.. and dalton. the most insane crazy teacher.
3rd period. that would be computers in buisness. the class i didn't want to take but its required for highschool graduation and apparentally it pushed art off my schedule. i walk in and realize i have no friends in this class. but hey lets make some new ones. and also its one of those pick where you sit classes. so i chose a seat in front of a group of potential friends and next to the only girl i was slightly familiar with. thankgoodness for her, trying to make conversation and keeping things fun.
then choir. mr. manning? what. please no. you see the only reason i took this class was because of friends. all my friends were in this class and it only occurs one class period. which means a guaranteed fun class. i walked into the room and thought there was some sort of party going on. honestly kids were jumping off chairs everyone was yelling. and some were already singing. awesome. this will be fun now won't it? oh and did i mention its a class of like 75 kids?
we sang, we discussed, we got our sections, did all that fun first day stuff.
then, the bell rings and the end.
the end of the beginning i guess.
first day of school. check.
i would say i loved every second of it but i guess that wouldn't be the truth now would it.
but i shouldn't complain.
most my classes seem decent. teachers seem pretty good. and thankgoodness i have friends to endure it with me. freshman year here i come.
