Sunday, May 29

a couple years back...

remember the first day of seventh grade...?
i was so excited i counted down all summer.
beth got sick in the assembly during first period on 7th grade day.
maddie was scared out of her mind.
and nicole was just happy to be there.

nicole had a different first period than us, so after dropping her off at her class,
we made our way to ours.
we stood outside the classroom for first period because we didn't want to be late, but we didn't want to go in early because we didn't want to be nerds.
mr. dalton. GT english. A1.
the bell rang, and  maddie said something like,
"here goes guys... we are officially in junior high."
and then we all walked in side by side.
the seats were mostly filled, and the classroom was dead quiet. no one said a word. and it seemed they all stared directly at us.
we looked at each other, and frantically whispered about where to sit, before making our way over to the back left corner, the only three seats left that were next to each other.
and look where we've come from there...

we made it.
we're finally done with junior high.
clear creek in 5th grade (:

Sunday, April 24

on easter's eve.

part I) maddie's house:
our  festivities began at maddie's.
where we gathered for a barbeque. and many many delicious strawberries.
there was an easter egg hunt that was to take place.
so we hid the eggs. and spontaneously threw the candy throughout the yard while prancing, twirling, singing, and leaping about. probably we thought we were in a movie or something. and sadly, my phone isn't capable of taking night time pictures.. then we ventured off to the dance.
part II) the dance:
ha. probably there are few places more awkward, (while still being wholesome) than a stake dance.
majority of the crowd is fourteen or fifteen. which in itself is an awkward age.
there are the attempts to dance. and flirt. there are the slow dances. the bystanders.
obviously it's an awkward place. but hey, we still love it.
the first half was honestly extremely boring. thankgoodness it didn't stay that way for long.
eventually everyone started to dance. no one cared for the awkwardness anymore. and it was so much fun.
oh and that last slow dance of the night. maybe he asked me to dance. (mentioned here, here (#4), and here)
and maybe, i like him. a lot? but whate'er... (:

Wednesday, April 13

we ski.

endless memories.
stalking attractive boys.
some of which can't ski.
awkward bathroom breaks.
prolonged lunch breaks.
blue coat boy.
lunch confession sessions.
blizzardy days.
singing loudly.
crashing into trees.
new friends? or not.
skiing backwards for entire runs.
extreme immaturity.
blue bula boy.
kind americans.
spontaneous.
bent ski poles.
stubborn route choosers.
pretzels.
the british clan.
standing up for standards.
awkward locker rooms.
not taking the bus.
building snow men.
best friends.
thawing fingers.
terrible technique.
whistling.
lunch time.
sleeping on the way home.
vending machines.
people watching.
making snow angels.
hot chocolate.
many extra creamers.
no make-up.
leisure skiing. la di da...
frozen cheeks.
endless laughs.
secrets shared.
sisters falling from lifts.
hat hair.
sitting in corners.
avoiding drunk people.
tiny tots terrain park.
endless adventures.
extreme powder days.
bonding time.

...i'll miss this.

Saturday, December 11

because we're best friends.

late on a friday night,
when everyone else may be out partying...
we make umbrella forts on the swing set.
and snuggle up in blankets to keep warm.
we go on walks in the dark.
and have peppermint hot chocolate tea parties.
we tell secrets, and talk about life.
because we're best friends.
and that's just what we do. (:

(and we forget cameras... so we don't have any pictures..)

Saturday, October 23

good thing we made it out alive.

ever since we met at the beginning of 4th grade, it's been a tradition.
for the past 6 years. i have attended maddie's halloween party.
every year we would enjoy the mystery dinner, games and scary movies.
but in 7th grade, we decided we needed something more "cool"
so following our mystery dinner, we ventured off to the haunted forrest.
we got scared. screamed. lost our voices. and loved every second of it.
so of course, we returned the following year.
9th grade came around and once again we were in need of an upgrade.
of course, we began with the mystery dinner,
but this year, we decided upon nightmare on 13th street.
because what's halloween without a little scare? (:
we all of course went to the bathroom before entering.
and thankgoodness, cause i think we all would've peed.
i pratically jumped into jessicas arms.
and naturally i got scared and fell over a couple times.
and if anything creepy appeared, jess and i would cover our eyes and run.
we were scared. and screamed like little girls. (which i guess we are)
but we loved it.
can't wait for next year. (:
they told us to act scared.
and right before the picture clicked, he decided to put that thing up to my face, which really did scare me.
i didn't even know i was capable of making that face. so please, ignore the disgusting facial expression. i really was scared.
i pretty much have the cutest, greatest friends ever (:

Monday, September 27

perhaps we should have these more often.

when a minimal day is given, where would you expect to find a large majority of the freshman population?
of course we needed to be a part of this shabang.
so we to gathered up our things and skipped on down to good ol' taco amigo.
the sun was high in the sky and the temperature rising.
we were sweaty and gross but its okay.
it was definitely worth it.
oreo shakes. they make everything better. (:
old friendships were regained.
and apparently i like men in tights? no. eew yuck.definitely not.
i prefer the soccer players (:
and sometimes me and kenna know things from stalking that probly we shouldn't.
and on accident she mentions it in front of the stalked (:
we're sneaky and snatch straws off trays.
and i've been informed i wave like a chicken.
i think its cute when two elderly ladies come to taco amigo for lunch.
my friends are great. actually the greatest (:
and today. it was real good.
we decided upon making it a tradition.
so from here on out. every minimal day. you'll find us at taco amigo.
for new adventures
feel free to join (:

Sunday, September 26

we like to color (:

another successful weekend (:
friday i had gym. of course it was great.
me and beth (: we sing. all the time.
we saw a lady. her pants were yellow. we called her sunshine bottom.
and good news. it was a good tumbling day.
then after gym. we partied. well not really. but we colored. lots (: typical.
saturday. i slept in. and had a real nice dream (:
and that night went to the football game. we lost. but it was fun anyways.
and jessica bulpitt. makes my day. every day.
and sometimes braces get caught on sweaters. well that's awkward now isn't it.
we had a few more blonde moments. don't even worry (:
and watched the moon come up over the mountain. it was real pretty.
we took a mcdonalds run. and got mcflurry's.
and maddie got a hot chocolate. (low-fat :) cause we're goin' light tonight?
we sing along in the car. or atleast try (:
and sunday's. always amazing. and we had a real good fireside tonight.
but probly our ward shouldn't sit by each other again. (:
we get antsy. and start to laugh.
all the people who shared insights were from our ward.
7th ward represent?
coming home to realize i don't have any homework? sersly doesn't get much better.
that is until we watch jonas la. joe and stella. it was perfect. but now what?
and mace and nick. aw they're just to cute (:
well this weekend was super (super? what?)
lets hope this week goes just as great (:

Saturday, August 28

if only i could drive.

the awkward situations that may have occurred tonight could have been elimiated.
it started out great.
we got a ride with rachel's sister.
and were off to the freshman football game.
the game. oh it was great.
warning: if you're a cheerleader i suggest you stop reading now. because you might be offended.
either that or lets get to know each other. cause there are some that enjoy, and chances are i'll enjoy you. (:
but our cheerleaders. they're... great? ha...
and maybe we did make fun of them the entire time.
to bad we accidentally got in their tumbling zone?
haha... they sometimes trip and need about 30 for back hand springs. (atleast)
or so we were told.
she also informed us that this girl was phenominal and if we hadn't gotten in her way she could've done atleast 5 more back hand springs.
honestly i think by being in her way we saved her life.
i'm not sure what would've happened if she may have tried 5 more...
cheerleaders and gymnasts sure have different perspectives.
we watched some girls get in a cat fight.
and spotted out some cute kids from oak canyon. hmm highschool?
and the greatest part we got to watch very attractive boys play football.
and win. 51-0.
so after all the festivities. it comes time for us to go home.
and if i could drive and had a car we would get in and drive home.
that simple.
but i don't so we couldn't. we had to find a ride.
there may have been some confusion as to how we were getting home.
and none of our parents or siblings were available.
so rachel may have asked someone for a ride.
and we may have rode home with 2 attractive football players.
and i am pretty sure i enjoyed it. (:

Sunday, August 22

dear maddie, kenna, nicole, and beth...

(copied from here..)
let's make this year the best yet.
school starts in 3 days. and i will not say i'm excited cause i'm most definitely not. but we're going to be freshman. and pratically, we are going to rule the school.(:
considering this, here's a list of all the things we can do now.
-we can walk down the halls like we're all that, (like last years freshman ;)
-we could probably claim oursleves a lunch table instead of eating on the hill, in the grass or the yucky hallway
-we can throw little kids into trashcans or call them sevies.
-we can walk past and slam their lockers and if they walk in front of us, just push them out of the way.
-we can stick to our own little clique cause we don't need anyone else.
-we can look and gossip about all the other cliques and be glad we aren't them.
-and we can throw lots of homework parties because now everything counts.
ha. just kidding. we probably could do all that but i'd rather we didn't?
because personally i like walking down the hallway with you guys laughing and talking and occasionally making oursleves look like idiots (:
and who needs that yucky claustrophobic lunchroom? i prefer the hill, the grass and the hallway. we've eaten there since we were little seventh graders, why change now?
and how about instead of throwing them in trashcans or calling them sevies we make new friends? we like new friends. and 'sevie' may very possilby be one of the stupidest word on this earth. we're cooler than that... right? (:
and remember on the first day when we struggled to open our lockers (except maddie) well this year we can help out the poor young 'uns so they aren't late to class. and if they get lost we'll surely help them.
and lets continue to branch out and make tons of new friends. yes, we have each other, and always will, but we can make room for more. (:
and gossiping? who needs gossiping. been there... done that... been a victim of that... its not fun. why participate? here's to no gossiping this year. instead we'll pray. (haha jk efy joke :)
and the homework parties? psh forget it lets have fun!
okay just kidding again. it does count so yeah we'll probably need some occasional homework parties (: but its ok we'll make time for our chick flicks. (beth will bring the tissues :)
hmm sound like a plan?
i think yes. this year will be great.
who cares if we fit in. honestly do you want to be like everyone else? lets just be ourselves and have fun (: if they don't like us... well ha guess thats their loss (: we have all found who we are... i finally found out who my true friends are ;) and boys? psh we don't need them. because we have each other. and you guys are all need to make this school year great. (:
and by the way, thanks (: thanks for always being there for me even when maybe i wasn't for you guys. i love you so much and pretty much you are all like sisters to me. w/ lots of love/ brit (:

ps. the part about how we don't need boys, maddie go for him (: beth, you can keep yours  (: as for me, kenna, and nicole... well i guess we'll see (:

Tuesday, August 17

today was the day...

that we hiked the mountain just for fun.
in what seemed like 100* weather.
and had tacos the size of texas.
luckily we made it out alive.
today was the day
we ate 2 jars of peaches.
and we laid on the wood floor because the couch seemed to far away.
we facebook stalked and looked at funny pictures.
today was the day we awkwardly got caught cutting through someone yard.
today was the day we mourned because only 1 week of summer is left.

Monday, August 16

a rexburg story.

once upon a time...
4 girls left the comfort of their hometown pg,
and ventured off to the little town of rexburg.
to visit byu idaho.
in search of an escape from the world, a good time, cute boys, and some spiritual upliftment.
more commonly known as e f y.

they posed for pictures.
and dined at taco bell.
where free limeade slushes were digested.
and creepy old men taught them how to purpose to their future husbands.
they met cool people.
and attended arm wrestling tournaments.
"mine" push-ups were done.
and they watched cute kids dance.
they of course took classic mirror pictures.
and created future in-n-out burger billboard pictures.
creepy names originated.
and unique peers were met.
they took awkward pictures in the make-out garden.
and met heidi, holly, and luke the uke.
they took candid photos.
their friendships were strengthened.
and their testimonies grew.
a boy named austin taught brit how to swing dance.
many new friends emerged.
and cows occurred.
but like all others do, this week came to an end.
they packed their bags.
and bid their adeu's.
and back to utah they returned.

...the end

Friday, August 13

wait... whaa?

highschool already?
but it seems like this was just yesterday..
8th grade graduation.
merely 3 months ago.

i'm pretty sure at the time i didn't realize that meant i was going into highschool.
well not the actual highschool...
but now everything counts.
lucky me i have these amazing friends to help me through (:

Sunday, August 8

3D chalk?!

my best friend knows me to well.
she was in mexico for my birthday. but she was a peach and got me a present anyways. and boy did she do a good job (:

i thought it would be one of those fake infomercial things that never work but guess what?
it did! it was amazing.

i took pictures.. but they left with jo.
you see, me and lauren planned on chalking the whole drive way but when we were taking self portraits of the artists... was when jo fell and died... so we didn't quite finish.
as to why there aren't any pictures of our creations.

Sunday, August 1

we enjoy the mall.

of course fun house mirrors (:
we ride the escalator just for fun (:
same with the glass elevator (:
my friends are the greatest. (:

we chalk.

before:

nicole
(someone sat in the chalk:)

after:
